Where to Party in Les Deux Alpes

The resort has a lively, young nightlife and there’s always a party going on. Les Deux Alpes has long boasted some of the most frenetic apres in France: “The nightlife is amazing,” said reporters. Well over 20 bars stay open until the early hours and popular watering holes include Pub Le Windsor, Smokey Joe’s (for live music), The Secret, Smithy’s Tavern (‘barn-like and packed’), Polar Bear, Board Room (+33 476 79 08 89) and Le Pressoir. L’Opéra is the recommended disco. L’Avalanche (+33 4 76 80 52 44) – “crammed and noisy” – has a loyal following. However, we did received a couple of less favourable comments: “The nightlife did not live up to the hype”, one person told us, and “There were few places to entertain those of us over the age of 30”.

Non-skiing activities include an outdoor swimming-pool and skating rink – be sure to have a go on the Dodgems on Ice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Then there’s paragliding, bowling, snowmobiling, and an ice grotto to explore.
