There’s only the weekend left in most Alpine resorts, although a handful of the highest ones – like Val Thorens – will enjoy a few more weeks’ skiing. Val d’Isere, as you can see from our picture above, has plenty of snow and is open for another three weeks.
But what if you feel that you still haven’t had enough skiing? How about trying some summer skiing? And if you love the mountains in winter then you could try paying a visit in summer, staying with one of your favourite ski tour operators. Instead of skiing you’ll be able to enjoy hiking, watersports, tennis, golf, horse-riding, mountain biking and myriad other activities. Accommodation is cheaper than in winter and you obviously won’t need an expensive lift pass either!
As well as our offers below, check for next year’s ski holiday deals on the websites of major operators such as Crystal Ski, Ski Total, Inghams, Mark Warner, Neilson, and Skiworld. It’s always worth having a look at what the ski specialist travel agencies – such as Sno, Snowfinders, Alpine Answers, Momentum Ski and Snow-Wise – have on offer for next winter.
See our advice on the best resorts for summer skiing for tips on where to go over the next few months. And don’t forget to book your parking at least 24 hours before you set off. I Love Meet and Greet has some great deals at Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham airports.
