After a wobbly week, tour operators’ phones are ringing once again and people are starting to get on with their lives. The pound is much the same as it was in February and tour operators are maintaining their prices for the present…so now is a good time to book your ski holiday for this winter.

Christmas in Zermatt for £1,495 with Matterhorn Chalets
Chalet Ulysses in the beautiful resort of Zermatt is available on a sole occupancy basis for 12 people for the gourmet catered price of £17,950 – that works out at £1,495pp – for the Christmas week, including a UIAGM mountain guide or instructor. No need to worry about early season skiing conditions though, as there’s guaranteed snow up on the Klein Matterhorn glacier. Bookings: Matterhorn Chalets.

Morzine from £839pp with VIP Ski
There are six weeks where you can save £100pp when booking before October 29. The saver weeks are January 2, 8, 15, 22 and 29; and March 12. Offers are non-combinable, apply to new bookings only and are subject to availability. For example, stay at Chalet Berger which is a centrally located, spacious chalet that boasts a great location in the heart of Morzine and close to the piste. Saas Fee from £889pp with Inghams
Stay in the pretty village of Saas Fee, which has perfectly groomed slopes for beginner and intermediate skiers, beautiful winter walking trails and the world’s highest revolving restaurant. Stay seven nights half-board at the four-and-a-half-star Schweizerhof Gourmet and Spa hotel from £889pp, which is a saving of £139pp, departing on December 16. Belle Plagne apartment from £476 with Pierre & Vacances
Les Constellations is located in the centre of Belle Plagne, a car-free, family-friendly resort in the Paradiski area. This ski-in, ski-out residence comprises large wooden and stone-built chalets, which blend into the landscape. The fully-equipped apartments are all south-facing and come with a balcony or terrace. The hotel is lose to the ski school meeting point, and gives easy access to the shops and entertainment on offer. A week’s self-catered stay in a studio apartment sleeping five is from £356 per apartment (down from £476, so a saving of 25%). Situated 500m from the centre of Alpe d’Huez, Les Chalets de L’Altiport offer easy access to the slopes, bars, restaurants and shops. A week’s stay next winter costs from £367pp (or £4,399 total) for a five-bedroom self-catered chalet sleeping up to 12 people. Bookings: Madame Vacances.

There’s now nine nights for the price of seven for the whole holiday (flights, transfer and chalet with meals and lift pass and ski hire). This means that when you book a nine-night holiday, along with lift pass and ski hire, you’ll pay the same as you would for a seven night holiday. For example, a trip to Lech staying in Chalet Hotel Sonneck starts from £1,179pp (it was £1,439pp) travelling out on December 30. The traditional chalet hotel has an indoor heated pool along with access to a sauna. The price includes return flights from Gatwick to Innsbruck, resort transfers, free wifi, and nine nights catered accommodation. Families save 5% when booking a Courmayeur for February half term. A 90-minute drive from Geneva airport, the five-star Grand Hotel Courmayeur is also close to the town centre. It has a large indoor heated pool, a gym and spa, whilst a free-shuttle bus takes you to the lifts each day, and there are children’s clubs on site. Travel is by private return flights from Farnborough airport to Geneva, with coaches to the hotel. All this is included in the Happy Families Programme to Courmayeur on February 11-18.
