As you will have seen from our snow report, last week saw what many think of as the start of the autumn ski season. The Stubai Glacier, near Innsbruck, has opened its pistes again after a two-month summer break. Bearing that in mind, now is the time to snap up a bargain and get that first winter trip booked. Here is our pick of ski deals for September:
Les Arcs family holiday for £1,600 with Esprit Ski
Save over £700 and treat your family to a ‘Batty’ stay in Arc 2000, which has guaranteed snow. Stay in the attractive Chalet Monte Bianco for £415pp on the week commencing January 11. The chalet is in an excellent location with the nearest lift 100m away, and guests can use the Residence’s indoor swimming-pool and sauna. Les Coches for £395pp with Alpine365
During September all three Alpine365 chalets in Les Coches have £100pp off the weeks outside school holidays. Example prices include £395pp at Chalet Epicea on the week starting January 3 or 10. Courchevel luxury from £799pp with Supertravel
You can now save over £200pp on selected dates in January and March. Supertravel Ski is giving away free local lift passes to those booking a holiday in Courchevel before the end of September – plus free Geneva transfers for its flagship property. The same saving applies to St Anton, and there is an early booking discount of £100 for Zermatt. September bookers will also receive a £50 resort credit to put towards new kit, dinner out or apres-ski. Morzine for £727pp with Alpine Elements

Tremblant from £869pp with Crystal Ski
Spend seven nights in Tremblant from £869pp (based on four people sharing), staying at the Le Lodge de la Montagne, including BA flights from Heathrow to Montreal with airport transfers. The rustic-style lodge has cedar posts and beams and is located in the village centre. Les Arcs half term from £603pp with Ski Collection
Save £200+ on a February half-term week in Les Arcs, staying at four-star Le Village in Arc 1950, which is ideal for families. Free childcare with VIP SKI
When families book a January ski holiday with VIP this September, childcare will be free. For example, a week’s stay at Chalet Nevada in Morzine with two children, departing January 4 will cost £939pp, with children under 12 saving £75 and parents saving £575 on childcare. Spend the Christmas week (travelling out on December 20) at the catered Chalet Dolomites in La Plagne Montchavin which sleeps 8-11 people in four bedrooms, with a hot-tub on balcony. The chalet is ski-in ski-out and offers easy access to the Vanoise Express link between La Plagne and Les Arcs. Spaces remain in La Plagne, Reberty and Les Gets on peak weeks, including Christmas, New Year and February half-term week. There are some great savings for these weeks at selected chalets – for example Chalet Les Chats Bleus in Les Gets for the Christmas week is now £1,099 per adult, with child discounts of up to 30%.
