Fly Above the Alps: Discover La Plagne’s New AÉROLIVE Cable Car Adventure
This winter, La Plagne is introducing something seriously different: La Plagne AÉROLIVE, a ride that goes beyond the typical alpine ascent. Forget the usual gondola. This experience has you scaling the peaks in open air style, giving you a new way to grasp the vastness of the glaciers and mountains. It is a world first that combines heart pounding heights, 360 degree views, and just the right amount of thrill for anyone looking to take their mountain experience up a notch.
Step into the Clouds: Live 3000 Awaits
Starting from Roche de Mio, AÉROLIVE swaps out the standard cabins for two daring, open air gondolas: “L’ACROBATE” and “LA FUNAMBULE.” Imagine an alpine lift with no glass in sight, where the crisp air and sweeping views are yours to take in without a barrier. It is not just about getting to the summit; it is about feeling every moment of the journey. The open design of these cabins puts you face to face with the Alps like never before, making this a ride that is as much about the experience as it is about the destination.
Pro tip: bring a camera (and strap it on tight). The gondolas’ slatted floors and open sides make this a prime spot for awe inspiring photos and an up close view of the rugged landscape below. This is not your typical lift for the faint hearted; it is for those looking to go beyond the expected, and trust me, it is well worth it.
Touch Down at Live 3000
The summit itself, Live 3000, is more than just a drop off point. At a lofty 3,080 meters, you are greeted by an open terrace with panoramic views that stretch across the Alps. There is a sense of remoteness and scale here that you will not find anywhere else, perfect for pausing to let it all sink in. And if you need a quick warm up, the Sixième Ciel café is on hand with hot drinks and snacks.
Once you have taken in the sights, you have options: hit the red or black pistes if you are up for a challenge, or take the enclosed gondola for a classic, scenic descent.
How to Book Your Spot on La PlagneAÉROLIVE
To catch AÉROLIVE, head to Roche de Mio, with the ascent taking around 30 minutes from Plagne Bellecôte. Remember, this is high altitude terrain, so come prepared with layers and solid gear for the conditions. Reservations are a must and can be booked online or at the lift pass sales office. At €49 per person, it is not your average lift ticket, but it is also not your average gondola ride.
