Essential Advice for the Perfect Trip

The resort of Puy Saint Vincent (or PSV) is located 20km from Briançon on the edge of the Ecrins National Park. Its micro-climate usually ensures secure late-season snow, along with 300 days of sunshine per year.

It was extremely popular with British families in the 1970s until they went on to bigger resorts further north. However, if you’re seeking a safe and unsophisticated resort for your family, with reasonable prices, look no further. As one reporter put it: “Everything is in a safe family environment, where the kids can be left to play without being out of sight. The food and drink is also very cheap as ski resorts go, and the ski school and children’s facilities are second to none”.

PSV 1400 is an unspoilt mountain village connected by a six-pack to PSV 1600. Newer residences, a few chalets and a handful of shops and restaurants have been built on the edge of the piste, and the higher village is the better bet if you want doorstep skiing.
