The Klosters side of the Parsenn ski area is dotted with little wooden huts serving traditional Swiss alpine fare, however we have had complaints that the famous Schwendi houses (the rustic huts) are now overpriced. Top choice is the Schwendi Ski und Berghaus. Also recommended are Gotschna Serneus (+41 81 422 1428), at Serneus and Schifer Berghaus, higher up the mountain on the same run. Skihutte Selfranga is a cute little mountain hut just above the village at the top of the drag-lift of the same name.
Most of the best resort eateries are in the hotels
Mann & Co, in the Waldhotel Davos in Davos Platz, has a copy of Thomas Mann’s novel, Magic Mountain, displayed on every table. It also serves good gourmet food and the wine cellar has over 680 fine wines. The restaurant is one of the many gourmet choices here. Several have GaultMillau points, including the intimate Fluela Stubli in Hotel Fluela and the Postli in the Morosani Posthotel – the latter serves light Swiss cuisine and fish dishes. Also try Zauberberg in the Europe Davos hotel. Hotel Seehof is located next to the Gotschna-Parsenn gondola and has three restaurants including Chesa Seehof for typical local dishes and the Seehof Stubli presided over by chef Armin Amrein who used to be at the famous Walserhof in Klosters. The Goldener Drachen is a Chinese eatery in the Hotel Bahnhof Terminus. Nordside overlooks the indoor ice rink and Golfclub Restaurant (has traditional wood-panelled rooms, cowskin floor rugs and historic posters and pictures decorating the walls.
