The resorts on Japan’s main island of Honshu and the northern island of Hokkaido will see a return to ‘Japanuary’ snowfall with 35-45cm expected across most resorts on Honshu and 15-25cm on Hokkaido. Happo-One is expecting 65-70cm.
Where To Ski
If you can drop everything and book a last minute trip then head to the Alps for a powder filled start to the week. But head high. There will be rain at village level in most resorts at some stage so choose a resort with gondola access from the village and extensive skiing above 2,000m.
Norway is still a good bet with cold temperatures preserving the powder which fell over the weekend, with more on the way.
Have the time to head further afield? Then it has to be the resorts on Honshu, Japan where normal service has resumed.
