Conditions are about to get more complicated in the Alps after another dose of mild, spring-like weather.

The drop in temperatures will be just as welcome as the white stuff.

Our latest Snow Report looks back at a day of sunshine, marked by a terrible avalanche in Tignes.

The western resorts in particular are sitting pretty, although the coming thaw will affect the quality of the cover on lower slopes.

The French resorts in particular should do well, as temperatures drop and several weather fronts cross the region.

Some resorts should get a 30cm top-up. However, there will be rain lower down.

A handful of resorts in France and Italy could get 30cm. But if it's deep snow you're after, you really need to look across the Atlantic.

If you're looking for fresh snow this week, look west.

Temperatures are low too. It's been a glorious day for piste-skiing.

More than half a metre could fall in places tomorrow.
