In Neustift itself there is Grillstube (+43 5226 3147), which has great steaks, and Café Anni Platzl (+43 5226 3613) for good pizzas, but the restaurant in the Hotel Jagdhof serves by far the best food in town. The restaurant uses fresh local cuisine – for example, they their Alpine lamb comes from the flock kept by a senior director of the hotel and all wild game comes from the hotel’s own 3000-hectare game preserve.
Convenient for the Fulpmes area are ten self-service restaurants on the mountain up at Schlick 2000. There are five self-services and snack bars on the Stubai Glacier, including the Jochdohlenhutte (+43 5226 8141) at a lofty 2900m. Innsbruck is only half an hour away and offers a wide choice of restaurants.
