How would you like a trip to a ski resort brighten up January? Below is a selection of offers available on the weeks between now and Easter.

With New Year upon us and still little sign of winter beginning in earnest across most of the Alps, tour operators are starting to offload holidays at huge discounts.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that’s there not much point in snapping up a bargain for next week in a resort where green grass still rules…unless you only want a suntan. The European weather will most probably change over the next fortnight and the snow will fall, no doubt in copious quantities.

Meanwhile we’ve given asterisks to the January deals in resorts where cover should lie somewhere between acceptable and excellent. Three *** = conditions are excellent, two ** = conditions are ok. We haven’t included any January deals with less than **.

To have a reasonable choice of where to stay, when to go and how to get there, it makes sense to book as soon as you can. It’s also worth checking for offers on the websites of the major tour operators.

If you’re flying from Gatwick, don’t forget to reserve your airport parking at least 24 hours before you go. Cophall Parking has some offers especially for Welove2ski readers.
