Be Careful What You Wish For! Snow Report

Snow Report: Monday 10 February 2025

Be Careful What You Wish For!

In today’s report we catch up on conditions across Europe, North America and Asia with powder on the East Coast of the United States and continued heavy snowfall in Japan.

Where’s the snow going to land next? We’ve scoured the internet to give you the best recommendations.

Now on with the snow!

Snow Report

Be careful what you wish for!

I’ve just spent 4 days at Uludag, Turkiye and it didn’t stop snowing from my arrival on Wednesday through to my departure yesterday.

Result.

Unfortunately the snow was accompanied by wind and fog and at times it felt like I was skiing inside a ping pong ball.

But when I did find the powder it was glorious. Boot top, spongy turns top to bottom. All to myself.

Hopefully I’ll see the sun at my next destination, Kartalkya!

World Snow Forecast For The Next 3-4 Days

wepowder.com

The Austrian resorts will see the freezing level fluctuate between 1,400 and 2,100m the first half of the week with cloudy skies and a sprinkling of new snow.

It will be a similar situation in France, Italy, and Switzerland with the chance of 5-10cm Tuesday into Wednesday.

Most resorts are skiing well heading into the February Half-Term holiday period but new snow would work wonders for the ‘glassy’ conditions.

Andorra and the French & Spanish Pyrenees will see freeze thaw conditions and a combination of sunshine, cloudy skies, and a sprinkling of new snow.

Central and Eastern Europe will see clear skies and below freezing temperatures with sunshine through Thursday.

Further east the Georgian and Turkish resorts will see temperatures between -5C and -10 C with 15-20cm forecast at Erciyes Resort, Turkiye.

Erciyes

The Nordic countries of Finland, Norway and Sweden will see continued cold temperatures and cloudy skies with Narvik, Norway expecting 30-35cm above mid-mountain.

The Alberta and British Columbia resorts of Canada will see sunshine and frigid temperatures with the mercury dropping as low as -20C. Wrap up warm.

Temperatures will remain cold on the East Coast with 5-10cm forecast at Tremblant, Quebec.

Most of the western US resorts will see below freezing temperatures and 10-15cm of new snow. Taos, New Mexico could see 20-25cm.

The West Coast resorts of California will see a storm system moving in tomorrow with 10-15cm forecast.

Further north the Oregon and Washington resorts will see colder temperatures and a sprinkling of new snow through Thursday.

Temperatures will remain cold on the East Coast with sunshine and 5-10cm forecast.

The resorts on Japan’s main island of Honshu and the northern island of Hokkaido continue to get pounded with snow with another 35-45cm forecast through Thursday.

Where To Ski

If you can drop everything and book a last minute trip then head to the Alps and head high.

Think Val d’Isere, La Plagne, Val Thorens, Zermatt, Saas Fee, Verbier, Solden, St Anton, Monte Rosa, and Passo Tonale.

Alta Badia

The Turkish resorts continue to enjoy new snowfall, and it’s only a 3.5hr flight to Istanbul.

Have the time to head further afield? Then nothing’s changed. It has to be the resorts on Honshu and Hokkaido, Japan which are experiencing record breaking snowfall.
