This is not the ideal resort for beginners: first-timers are catered for, but would be better of in Banff Lake Louise or even Whistler, as KH is a resort where people come to ski the steep and deep. The handful of lifts serve rugged terrain best suited to good skiers wanting serious challenge. Kicking Horse Mountain School has established a reputation as something of a powder-pig’s academy. Heli-skiing can be arranged through Purcell Heli Skiing.

The resort has now opened a Kids Zone and Kicking Horse Mountain School teaches children from three years. Kicking Horse Kids Club cares for children from 18 months to five years. The resort has a popular tubing park, which will keep families entertained after skiing.
