In today’s report we catch up on conditions across Europe, North America and Asia with big snowfall in the Western US and March snowfall coming in like a ‘Lion’. Let’s hope it doesn’t go out like a lamb with the Easter holidays still a month away.

Our ‘on the snow’ reporters have been enjoying great conditions across the European Alps.

Les Crosets Snow Report, Switzerland

Dave Burrows sent us this report from Les Crosets, Switzerland where he enjoyed the sunshine, quiet slopes, and perfect grooming.

Conditions are still excellent at Erciyes Resort in central Turkiye with deserted slopes, perfect grooming, stunning views of Kayseri city, and plenty of boot top powder after Monday’s snowfall.

World Snow Forecast For The Next 3-4 Days

The Alpine resorts of Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland will see glorious Spring conditions with sunshine and a freezing level hovering around 2,500m through Monday.

A storm system will move in on Sunday evening bringing 5-15cm to most resorts. Saas Fee and Zermatt, Switzerland are expecting 20-25cm, with Gressoney, Italy forecast to receive 30-35cm.

The freezing level will be a little lower in Andorra and the French & Spanish Pyrenees with 30-35cm forecast in Grandvalira and Ordino Arcalis, Andorra and Cauterets, France; 40-45cm at Formigal, Spain; and 55-60cm at Gavarnie, France.

Temperatures will be warmer in Central and Eastern Europe with freeze thaw conditions at all levels.

The warming trend continues further East with the Georgian and Turkish resorts experiencing freeze thaw conditions and sunny skies.

The Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish resorts will see below freezing temperatures and 5-15cm forecast.

The Alberta and British Columbia resorts of Canada will see temperatures well below freezing with 5-10cm of new snow forecast. Lake Louise, Alberta could see 20-25cm and Whistler Blackcomb, BC is forecast to receive close to 1m above mid-mountain.

Temperatures will remain cold on the East Coast of Canada today and tomorrow with 10-15cm at Mont Tremblant.

Most of the western US resorts will see snow the next couple of days with 5-15cm forecast. Taos, New Mexico could see 20-25cm.

The West Coast resorts of California, Oregon and Washington will 5-10cm of snowfall and freeze thaw conditions over the weekend.

Further North, Alyeska Resort in Alaska continues to get the goods with another 15-20cm forecast.

Temperatures have dropped below freezing on the East Coast of the United States with 5-10cm forecast.

Japan’s main island of Honshu will see a return to more normal temperatures for this time of the season with 10-15cm forecast.

It’s still winter on the northern island of Hokkaido with 25-30cm forecast. Kiroro could see 55-60cm

Where To Ski

There will be great Spring skiing across the Alps but for new snow head high in Switzerland and Italy’s Aosta Valley.

Alternatively head south to Andorra and the French & Spanish Pyrenees for quiet slopes and fresh snow.

Have the time to head further afield?

Then head East to Hokkaido, Japan for ‘Jarch’ – January conditions in March!
