L’Antigel is a new mountain restaurant located at the bottom of the slalom stadium Joël Chenal. It has a lovely terrace and serves traditional mountain dishes as well as snacks, with an excellent wine list.
Lunch on both sides of the border
At the foot of the Fort chair-lift, La Traversette (+33 611 70 51 07) supplies snacks and self-service meals all day, or take the lift and at the top you’ll find the Chalet Anca – fast-food plus home-prepared vin chaud. On a cold, windy day you’ll appreciate this, and you can ski back down even after the lifts have closed. Nearer to home, and accessible to pedestrians from Les Eucherts, is the Plan du Repos Bar/Restaurant (+33 479 06 87 92), which has a large panoramic sun-terrace. There’s a lot to be said for skiing into Italy for lunch beside the pistes. Accessible via the San Bernardo (no. 7) red-graded cruise above La Thuile is Lo Riondet (+39 165 88 40 06), which offers a warm welcome and reviving meals on a comfortable covered terrace or beside a warm fire in an authentic chalet-style bar. The vegetarian-friendly menu includes perfect pasta classics.
