In Morillon village, there’s quite a choice of places to stay. Hotel Le Morillon has a spa and restaurant and is located at the heart of the village, 100m from the telecabine. It contains 22 alpine style bedrooms varying in size from twins and doubles to larger family rooms for up to five people. Best Western Grand Massif is a chalet-style residence at the entrance of Morillon and close to the gondola. The residence has a heated indoor swimming-pool. Bois de Champelle, in Morillon village, is made up of individual self-catered chalets that together form a small hamlet.
Staying in the purpose-built village at 1100m
At Les Esserts, Le Refuge de l’Alpage is a recently-built MGM residence, housing some nicely-decorated and spacious apartments with easy access to the nursery slopes – so it is ideal for families. Stylish Chalet Les Marmottes is set among a collection of similar chalets, with the village centre a short walk away. The three-storey wood-clad chalet has a sunny balcony and spacious terrace, an American-style kitchen and sleeps 12 to 14 people. Hotel Le Bois du Seigneur is another accommodation choice.
Take the bus to Sixt
In Sixt, Le Penoutlay is a three-bedroom chalet near the top of a steep hillside leading to the tiny hamlet of Passy; the local ski area is 100m away. Le Choucas (+33 450 34 47 60) is a two-star hotel with 27 bedrooms. A free ski-bus service connects Sixt with Samoens and Morillon.
