‘Deepcember’ on the Cards? | Snow Report

Well December has started as November finished.

And then some.

The first four days of the month has seen deep powder snow conditions across much of the N Hemisphere with spectacular skiing & snowboarding on offer.

More and more resorts have opened this past weekend, with England, Germany, Slovakia and Spain joining the countries open for business.

Yes you read that right, ENGLAND.

Both Weardale and Yad Moss were open for turns over the weekend after the North of England received the first sustained snowfall of the season.

Congratulations to Kirsty Muir who placed second at the Beijing Big Air World Cup; and Huw Nightingale and Charlotte Bankes who went one better by claiming top spot at the Les Deux Alpes Snowboard Cross Team event.

We’ll be posting twice weekly snow reports on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the 2023/24 Winter season, so bookmark us or better yet subscribe to get the latest snow news and our tips for where the snow will be.

If you’re out in resort drop us a line via our social media channels to share your ‘on the snow’ experiences and photos.

FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 3-4 DAYS

The Alps will see between 5-20cm of new snow in the coming days with a freezing level around 1,000m before it warms up a little on Thursday.

The Nordic countries will see consistent below freezing temperatures and clear skies in the coming days, with a slim chance of snow in Norway.

The East coast of the US and Canada will see temperatures well below 0C with snowfall between 10-20cm.

The Mountain states and provinces will see a healthy storm cycle through to Monday evening which will bring 10-30cm of new snow.

British Columbia in Canada will see snowfall through to Monday evening which will bring 10-30cm of new snow.

It’s getting warm in California, with above freezing temperatures for the first half of the week but thankfully not precipitation.

It’s also warming up in Japan with rain forecast Wednesday night into Thursday. Fingers crossed the freezing level drops and it’s snow instead of rain.
