La Tania has no less than 12 accredited ski schools, all of whom understandably promise lessons in English and say that they specialize in teaching children in group or private lessons. New Generation heads the list of British schools here, followed by Ultimate Snowsports, Momentum Snowsports, The Snow School, and Ski Class. We also recommend Ski Excel, which is almost British (Bastien, the boss, worked in a prep school in Scotland for five years) along with Magic in Motion, which has long experience in teaching Brits to ski in the Trois Vallees.

Travelling British ski school Snoworks also runs all-terrain and off-piste courses here each winter.

In a resort where 95% of the clientele is British, even the ESF has responded on the language front with fluent English-speaking instructors. Snowball, run by guide Olivier Brane, specializes in off-piste.

Family holidays are what La Tania is all about

The resort centre is quiet and pedestrianised. There’s a free lift and short run for beginners, and a small tobogganing area in front of the gondola station. The ESF Club Piou Piou provides an introduction to skiing for children under four years and the school gives a full range of lessons for kids from four years of age. Most importantly, a number of tour operators including Le Ski and Ski Beat operate their own comprehensive childcare service here. We recommend the resort in our best resorts for family skiing.
