There’s a still time to grab a week or weekend’s skiing in one of the high resorts still open, such as Tignes, Val d’Isere and Val Thorens. You won’t be disappointed by the snow conditions either, as there’s still masses of the white stuff. You might even catch some spring snow, and there’s always the chance to go ski-touring. And if you missed out on the best ski season in living memory – or have returned from your ski holiday and can’t wait for the next one – the good news is that there are some early-booking discounts coming in for next year’s ski season.

Val Thorens last chance to ski for £147pp with Erna Low
A holiday starting on April 28 is still available to the high-altitude resort of Val Thorens. The resort stays open until May 8, making a full week of skiing possible in one of the best season’s snow for many years. A studio for up to four people in the Silveralp Residence now costs £587 including return Eurotunnel crossings, which works out at £147pp. Bookings: Erna Low.

This summer

Seefeld rejuvenation week from 175€ pp per night
Stay at the new five-star superior Astoria hotel in Seefeld in the Austrian Tirol this summer. You’ll be able to relax in the wellness area, swim through the interlinked pools and make the most of a free Heart Rate Variability test, which evaluates the balancing act between the sympathetic nervous system (fight and flight) and the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). Leave the Astoria feeling rejuvenated and equipped with some top tips for a healthy lifestyle. A night’s stay costs from €175pp including half-board accommodation, welcome drinks with canapes, access to the pools, access to the wellness area and natural swimming lake plus hikes and Nordic walking tours. Flights and transfers are extra. Information: Visit Tirol.

Morzine summer activities from £55pp per night with VIP Chalets
From June 9, Morzine will re-open and become an alpine playground with up to 60 activities, including biking, hiking, trail running, swimming and golf – all available with the resort’s Multi Pass. Enjoy staying at the comfortable Colibri Uno contemporary chalet apartment in the centre of Morzine. It has four en-suite bedrooms, some with bunk beds, and a spacious lounge and dining area. The property is priced from £55pp per night based on a minimum stay of three nights on a self-catered basis. Half board upgrade is available for extra cost. Bookings: VIP Chalets.

Val d’Isere relay race from 60€ pp to enter
From July 6-8 you can take part in the Odlo High Trail Vanoise, which starts and finishes in the centre of Val d’Isere. The 70km endurance race sees competitors running through the village of Tignes and climbing to the summit of the Grande Motte Glacier (3653 metres high). The route is challenging, and runners will ascend and descend more than 5000 metres vertical. To give an increased number of trail runners the chance to run up the Grande Motte Glacier, a new relay race has been introduced for the 2018 programme. Pick a teammate and take part: the first leg is 35km long with 2300 metres of ascent, and the second part of the race (for the second runner) is 35km long and climbs 3000 metres. Throughout the race, there are refreshments posts to help keep everyone on top form. The relay race costs 60€ pp to enter. Information: High Trail Vanoise.

  • Hi guys!
Been following this website for years, love it! But I live in Málaga, (and I’m sure many of your readers outside of the UK), and boy I’d love to take advantage of your deaks and offers but in euros and without flights from UK. Any chance of that?
Thanks for all your hard work and great articles, looking forward to 2018/19…hope it’ll be as epic as this past one!!
    Thomas

    • Hi Thomas, we used to give our prices in euros as well as £, but with rates changing so quickly last year it made it impossible to keep up! Flights and tunnel crossings are always optional – you just have to ask the tour operator for a quote in euros and without the travel part of the package.
