World Snow Forecast For The Next 3-4 Days

wepowder.com

After snowfall across much of Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland since our last report, the next 3-4 days will see the freezing level rise to 2,300m with warmer temperatures under sunny skies. There will still be plenty of soft snow to play on, just head to north facing slopes above 2,300m.

It will be a mixed bag in Andorra and the French & Spanish Pyrenees with 5-15cm of new snow up high on Wednesday but rain at village level.

It will be cooler in Central and Eastern Europe the first half of this week with 5-10cm of new snow above 1,700m across much of the region. Poiana Brasov, Romania and Popova Shapka, North Macedonia could see 15-20cm and 25-30cm respectively.

Further East the Georgian and Turkish resorts will see rain below 2,500m on Tuesday turning to 15-20cm of snow at all levels from Wednesday. Gudauri, Georgia is expecting 25-30cm of new snow, with Tetnuldi, Georgia forecast to receive 65-70cm. Ergan, Turkiye could see 30-35cm.

Temperatures remain below freezing in the Nordic Countries of Finland, Norway and Sweden with 5-10cm forecast for the next 3-4 days. Narvik, Norway could see 85-90cm of new snow; with Are, Sweden expecting 40-45cm.

The Alberta and British Columbia resorts of Canada will see temperatures well below freezing with 5-10cm of new snow forecast. Whistler Blackcomb, BC is forecast to receive 25-30cm up high but rain at village level.

Temperatures remain at or above freezing on the East Coast of Canada with freeze thaw conditions under sunny skies.

Most of the western US resorts will see a mix of sunshine and snow showers bringing 10-15cm of new snow through Thursday. Jackson Hole, Wyoming could see 25-30cm of new snow.

After over 1m of snowfall last week the West Coast resorts of California will see 20-25cm of snowfall fall today at the tail end of the storm system. Kirkwood could see 35-40cm.

Oregon and Washington will see 20-25cm of new snow through Thursday, with 30-35cm forecast for Timberline, Oregon.

Temperatures remain at or above freezing on the East Coast of the United States with freeze thaw conditions under sunny skies.

The freezing level has dropped on Japan’s main island of Honshu bringing 20-30cm of snowfall at all levels. Kagura could see 65-70cm of new snow.

It’s still very much Winter further North on the island of Hokkaido with temperatures remaining below freezing at all levels and 20-25cm forecast. Kiroro could see 30-35cm through Thursday.

Where To Ski

There will be great Spring skiing across the Alps but look for north facing slopes above 2,300m for the best conditions.

Head to Popova Shapka, North Macedonia; Gudauri and Tetnuldi, Georgia; and Erciyes and Ergan, Turkiye for powder.

Narvik, Norway is the go to up North with powder right down to sea level.

Have the time to head further afield?

Then make your way to the West coast resorts of California, Oregon, and Washington.

Or head East to Japan where cold smoke powder is still on the menu.
