News From Around the Ski World

Spring powder is like a croissant. Best served fresh!

The clash of seasons in March as winter succumbs to spring can often lead to volatile storm systems rolling through the ski world bringing heavy snowfall.

This past week Fulpmes, Austria; Val d’Isère, France; the Aosta Valley of Italy; and resorts across California have seen over a metre of new snow falling across their slopes.

But once the storm has passed through and the skies have cleared the strength of the spring sun can quickly transform featherlight powder to porridge, especially on south facing slopes.

So if you see heavy snowfall in the forecast be prepared to move at a moment’s notice to make the most of the new snow.

If you’re out in resort drop us a line via our social media channels to share your ‘on the snow’ experiences and photos.

We’ll be posting twice-weekly snow reports on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the 2023/24 winter season. Bookmark us, or, better yet, subscribe to get the latest snow news and our tips for where the snow will be.
