The Best Ski Deals Including 5 for Christmas and New Year

It’s not too late to search out a bargain holiday.

Although the official start to the European ski season is fast approaching and many of the glaciers are now open for autumn skiing, it’s not too late to search out a bargain holiday. There are still some Christmas and New Year holidays on offer, too.

Most of the major operators have ski holiday deals available, and it’s also worth having a look at what the ski specialist travel agencies have on offer.

Don’t forget to book your airport parking before you go. If you’re flying from Gatwick, Cophall Parking has some offers just for Welove2ski viewers.

 

St Martin de Belleville Christmas from £752pp with Ski Talini
Arrive on Friday December 22 at luxurious Chalet Polaris in picturesque St Martin de Belleville. The price has been reduced by 30%, so a seven-night catered chalet holiday with open bar is now £752pp (was £1,075) not including travel. This 3 Valleys village is renowned as a gastronomic resort, so you can expect a fabulous foodie holiday. Bookings: Ski Talini.

La Plagne Easter apartment for £957 with Erna Low
Stay seven nights from April 7 at the high-altitude Residence Front de Neige, Plagne Villages. The two-two bedroom apartment sleeps up to six people and is now £957 (it was £1,083 – save £126) including Eurotunnel Flexiplus crossings. The four-star residence opened its doors in December 2016 and offers direct access to the slopes. There’s a spa with an indoor heated swimming-pool. Bookings: Erna Low.

Pas de la Casa in January from £255pp with Crystal Ski
Pas de la Casa is a high-altitude resort with access to 210km of piste in the Grandvalira ski area, linking it to Soldeu and El Tarter. It’s lively and affordable, with a reputation for vibrant apres and an excellent standard of teaching. A week’s stay in the two-star self-catering Manzano Apartments is now from £255pp (saving £50pp) based on four sharing, including Gatwick-Toulouse flights and resort transfers. Val d’Isere from £288pp and €36pp daily Solaise lift pass with Ski France
For skiers and snowboarders who are new to the sport, the Solaise lift pass could be the answer. The new pass covers seven lifts, including the 10-person gondola from the village up to Solaise, plus entrance to Le Lounge day lodge. It also includes access to dedicated beginner slopes and a substantial intermediate area, along with a number of runs back to the village. The new lift pass costs €36pp per day. A week’s stay, at the Alpina Lodge in Val d’Isere, costs from £288pp in a self-catered studio flat. Flights, transfers and food are extra. Bookings: Ski France.

Kitzbuhel Christmas for £1,399pp with SNO
Departing December 23, four-star Hotel Schwarzer Adler in Kitzbuhel has been reduced from £1,699pp to £1,399pp, saving couples a total of £600. Including Gatwick flights, transfers and half board, the week-long package also comes with 2-for-1 ski/snowboard and boot hire. The hotel has a fabulous rooftop pool. Bookings: SNO.

Les Menuires family holiday for £2,699pp with Ski Famille
There’s early-season skiing for £2,699 for a family of four staying in the brand new Chalet Aigle on the week starting December 16. The property sleeps 17 and has a prime position overlooking the slopes of Les Bruyeres in the 3 Valleys. This chalet is ski-in-ski-out and is in a great location for a family ski holiday. It now costs £2,699 for seven nights half board includeing Gatwick flights and resort transfers. Regional flights can be arranged at a supplement. Bookings: Ski Famille.

Peisey-Vallandry New Year for £699pp with Ski Amis
On the week commencing December 30, stay at Chalet Sermoz in Peisey Vallandry next to the Vanoise Express, so there’s easy access to both La Plagne and Les Arcs. The chalet has a hot-tub overlooking the valley and all the rooms are twin en-suite. The price is now £699pp – it was £1,079pp, so a saving of £380pp. Bookings: Ski Amis.

Banff in March from £1,087pp with Inghams
Couples looking to book their spring skiing holiday to Banff can enjoy further savings when they book before Tuesday October 31. Valid for departures between March 1 and 25, couples receive £100 off on stays in the Banff Inn Hotel, the Ptarmigan Inn and four-star Brewsters Mountain Lodge, in addition to the hotels’ pre-existing Early Booking Offers which are valid until November 30. For example, a 10-night holiday departing March 7, staying room-only at the three-and-a-half-star Banff Inn Hotel costs from £1,087pp, which is a saving of £154pp, and includes the £100 discount, as well as return flights from Heathrow to Calgary and airport transfers. Les Arcs Christmas and New Year from £1,209pp with Ski Beat
Enjoy the festive season at Chalet Coulicou in Arc 1950, where there’s a heated outdoor pool, saunas, steam rooms and a fitness area. The four-star chalet is 200m from the slopes and also close at hand are tobogganing, paragliding, snowshoeing, an ice-rink and walking trails. There’s now a saving of £165pp on a week’s stay over Christmas, departing December 23, (was £1,374, now £1,209) and £171pp at New Year departing December 30 (was £1,562, now £1,391). La Rosiere Christmas from £414pp with Peak Retreats
La Rosiere has built a new fun track dedicated to children and families. It’s more than 1km long with gongs and tunnels, and themed with the famous Saint Bernard mascot. If you want to sky this – and also the Christmas Forest that’s set up from December 23, then book before October 31 to save 10% on selected weeks in La Rosiere. For example, seven nights self-catering is now from £414pp (was £460pp) in four-star apartments close to the ski slopes, based on five people sharing a two-bedroom apartment (sleeps six) and arriving on December 23. Val d’Isere half term from £1,520pp with Esprit Ski
Take the family to Val d’Isere this February, where Chalet Hotel Ducs De Savoie is now from £1,520pp. Located in the heart of the resort, this chalet-hotel has a traditional interior with comfortable and spacious family rooms. The price is based on a family of four (two adults and two children aged two to ten years) from £6,080 – travelling out on February 11 – and includes return flights from Gatwick to Geneva, resort transfers, free baby listening and seven nights catered accommodation. Located on the high street 100 metres from the Pleney piste, CLUB Alaska is in the centre of the action in Morzine. The large chalet sleeps up to 16 people in seven bedrooms with a shared lounge, hot tub and sauna. A seven-night stay at CLUB Alaska costs from £779pp half-board, including flights and resort transfers. Save £100pp at CLUB Alaska on a saver week beginning January 7, 14, 21 and 28, and March 11. La Tania in January from £748pp with Ski Total
This January visit La Tania, where a week at Chalet Beau Vallon is now from £748pp, travelling out on January 7. With skiing almost to and from the door and only four minutes’ walk to the resort centre, it’s in a good location.
