Some great ski holidays are still on offer, including one with a free child’s lift pass, and two for half term. February is a popular time, due to the school break, but March and April are also good months to go – with longer days and more chance of sunshine. As well as looking through the deals below, it’s also worth seeing what the ski specialist travel agencies have on offer, such as SNO, Snowfinders and Ski in Luxury. Most of the major tour operators have ski holiday deals available throughout the winter, too.

By the way, we’re included – in first place – in The Good Web Guide’s best sites for skiing.

Banff half term for £1,112pp with SNO
Certain packages to Canada are costing less than equivalent trips to the Alps this February half term. Canadian schools don’t take their mid-winter break until March, meaning slopes shouldn’t be too busy either. £1,112pp buys you a seven-night stay in Banff’s historic three-star Mount Royal Hotel, which is in the centre of the town and has a rooftop lounge with outdoor hot tubs. Flights from Gatwick and resort transfers are included in the price. Bookings: SNO.

Avoriaz for £321pp and child’s lift pass with Erna Low
Save 20% on accommodation at three-star residence Electra in Avoriaz, offering ski-in ski-out access and fabulous mountain views. Book a self-drive package for seven nights from April 4, including one-bedroom four- to five-person standard apartment and Eurotunnel Flexiplus crossings for £321pp (based on four sharing, full price £1,539). As well as this you can buy one adult six-day full area lift pass and receive a free child pass (5-11 years, adult price £199pp). Bookings: Erna Low.

St Christoph from £1,079pp with VIP SKI
Hotel Arlberg is situated next to the St Christophbahn ski-lift at 1800 metres, taking you straight onto the Galzig mountain, shared with St Anton. Most importantly, for foodies, the hotel is next to the famous Hospiz Alm for the ultimate Tirolean lunch. It’s a ski-in, ski-out location away from the buzz of the town centre. One of the resort’s key attractions is queue-free lifts in the morning and a crowd-free home run at the end of the day. VIP SKI guests has exclusive use of the Arlberg hotel and piste-side terrace where the chef offers a flexible menu plan with a choice of dishes for evening dining. The 18 spacious bedrooms and three suites are spread over three floors. A seven-night stay at Hotel Arlberg, starting February 9, costs from £1,079pp (reduced from £1,449pp, saving £400pp) including return flights from Gatwick, coach transfers, accommodation, and catered chalet board. Bookings: VIP SKI.

For example, Chalet Grand Sapin which sleeps 11 is now £719pp (was £799pp) on the week of March 15. Flights are not included. Bookings: Skiology.
