Forget those January blues and book yourself a ski trip.

Beat the January blues and book a ski trip to one of these great resorts in France, Canada, and the Austrian Tirol. As well as looking through the deals below, it’s also worth seeing what the ski specialist travel agencies have on offer, such as SNO, Snowfinders and Ski in Luxury. Most of the major tour operators have ski holiday deals available throughout the winter, too.

Arc 2000 for £333pp in January with Erna Low
Chalet de L’Ours offers traditional chalet style apartments in the high-altitude resort of Arc 2000. Book a self-drive package for seven nights from January 18, including a two-bedroom four to six person apartment and Eurotunnel Flexiplus crossings for £333pp based on four people sharing (£1,334 total). The price was £1,794, so that’s a 30% discount. Bookings: Erna Low.

Whistler from £1,392pp with SNO
Seven-nights at the Westin Resort & Spa in Whistler has been reduced from to £2,013pp to £1,392pp on the week beginning January 18. Heathrow flights and transfers are included in the price. The four-star hotel is positioned near the village and next to the gondolas for the Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. It has an indoor/outdoor pool, spa, shops and a choice of restaurants. Vaujany from €699pp with Ski Peak
The lovely Chalet Saskia in Vaujany is being offered half board at a reduced rate this month. On the week starting January 11 it’s €699pp (reduced from €1,119) and on January 18 it’s €736pp (down from €1,227). The chalet sleeps 10-13 people in each of two halves. Bookings: Ski Peak.

Tignes from £336pp with Ski Collection
Perfect for a ski break with its high altitude slopes, Tignes Le Lac offers lots on and off the slopes, with activities such as dog-sledding, ski-joëring, dinner in a yurt, and the bunJride (a ski jump bungee). Stay in the four-star apartments at Le Taos in the heart of the village with doorstep skiing. Facilities include free access to the private indoor pool and spa area, optional breakfast. There’s 20% off the week commencing April 18 when booked by February 1, so seven nights in a two-bedroom apartment (based on four sharing) is now from £336pp including return Eurotunnel crossings with free FlexiPlus upgrade on most dates. Niederau from £566pp with Inghams
The four-star Hotel Sonnschein in Niederau offers an extensive leisure area including two swimming-pools and wellness facilities. There’s a seven-night ski holiday on a half-board basis from £566pp (saving of £240pp) including return flights from Gatwick to Innsbruck and airport transfers. The package is valid for travel departing on January 11. Bookings: Inghams.

Reberty family chalet from £3,999 with Ski Famille
There are still has rooms in Chalet Katie 1 available in Reberty in the 3 Valleys with virtually doorstep skiing, and a hot tub on the terrace. It sleeps up to three families (13 beds). The price for the week starting February 15 is now £3,999 for a family of three, £4,999 for a family of four, or £6,999 for a family of five. The chalet has two family suites, one double and one twin room. Prices include seven nights’ accommodation, Gatwick flights and transfers. Childcare and ski packs are extra. Bookings: Ski Famille.

Alpe d’Huez from £999pp with VIP SKI
Built around an atmospheric cobbled courtyard, and surrounded on two sides by pistes, Chalet La Ferme is a great place to stay in Alpe d’Huez. It comprises five spacious, en-suite bedrooms (sleeping 10 people) a wet suite, hot tub, and sauna. A week’s stay, from January 12, costs from £999pp (was £1,289pp, saving £290pp) and includes return flights from a UK airport, coach transfers, catered accommodation. Bookings: VIP SKI.

La Plagne for £699pp with Ski Beat
On the week starting February 29 there’s £290pp off a week’s stay in Plagne 1800. Up to 19 people can stay in Chalet Florence, a spacious and sociable chalet with masses of communal seating and dining areas. The price of £699pp (was £989pp) includes meals, return flights from Gatwick (Manchester + £20) and transfers. Bookings: Ski Beat.

Val Thorens in January from £749pp with Ski Total
Spend a week at Chalet Chloe in Val Thorens on the week starting January 12. The accommodation sleeps 10-12 people on half board, and flights are from Stansted (other airports available) and the price is now £749pp (was £1,089pp). Bookings: Ski Total.

Chamrousse from £110pp with Peak Retreats
Situated in the Isere region of the French Alps and just a short distance from Grenoble airport, Chamrousse is a great choice for a family winter break. The resort is perfect for beginners and mixed ability groups. Stay in the three-star Ecrin des Neiges apartments close to the Roche Beranger ski lifts at 1750m, in a sunny south-facing position. Facilities include free access to the indoor pool, sauna (payable). There’s 15% off selected apartment types on the weeks commencing March 7 and 14, 20% off selected apartment types weeks commencing March 21 and 28, all when booked by January 11. For example, seven nights in a two-bedroom apartment on March 28 is now from £110pp based on five sharing (was £125pp) including return Eurotunnel crossings with free FlexiPlus upgrade.
