A shorter than usual list of offers for winter this week – but they are just too good to miss!

Meanwhile there are still plenty of offers for summer in the Alps – which makes a great alternative to a beach holidays for active people who fancy some hiking or mountain biking, golf, tennis or swimming in a crystal clear lake.

Summer in the Alps

Lake Fuschl from £742pp with Thomson Lakes
Enjoy a summer holiday at Fuschl with some gorgeous views of the turquoise waters. For Fuschl is one of the biggest lakes of the Salzkammergut and northern Salzburg. Chatel from £402pp with Peak Retreats
Save £72pp on summer holidays in Chatel. The resort has a lively ambience and plenty of entertainment. Stay 14 nights during peak season at Les Chalets d’Angele from £402pp (was £474pp); the four-star apartments have an indoor heated pool and a spa, and are located a short walk from the village centre. Württemberger Haus in the Austrian Tirol from 23€ per night
Situated at stage 20 of the Eagle Walk – a 413km trail that spans the whole length of the Austrian Tirol – the Württemberger Haus offers hikers a remote place to stay during the summer. The only way to reach the hut is by five-hour ascent on foot, either from Zams near Landeck or from Gramais or Madau in the Lechtal Valley. However, good climbers are rewarded with views across the valley and a refreshing alpine lake. Inside the hut, wholesome traditional cuisine is served and there are comfortable beds for the night. There is no wifi and limited mobile phone reception here, which could be an added bonus! Winter Ski Deals

Les Arcs £1 lift pass with SNO
Save money by bagging a lift pass for a pound with selected chalets. Chalet Yves in the village of Arc 1800 is available with this deal for £697pp. The price includes Gatwick flights, airport transfers and seven nights chalet catering from January 13. Housed in a restored farm building, the chalet is positioned on the hillside, a short walk and ski from the Chantel chair-lift. Bookings: SNO.

St Martin de Belleville and free 3V lift passes with The Alpine Club
You’ve got to buy a ski pass, it’s just an expense of your ski holiday, except if you book one of The Alpine Club’s boutique chalets for Christmas. They are offering a free, 3 Valleys, 6-day lift pass when you book one of their lovely chalets in St Martin: Chalet Abode (sleeps 10), Chamois Lodge (sleeps 9) or The Ecurie (sleeps 8).
