Big White has 21 bars, restaurants and cafes, so there is a reasonable choice of venues – with more being added in recent years. In the village, Kettle Valley Steakhouse (+1 250 491 0130) in Happy Valley has Okanagan cuisine featuring Canadian beef, fresh seafood and local game. Lotus Lounge is a Thai restaurant with its chef from Phuket and a modern interior of deep reds and burnt oranges, silk pillows and gold details. 6 Degrees Bistro (+1 250 491 1716) serves Italian and other Mediterranean cuisine beside an open fireplace. The Globe Cafe & Tapas Bar is open for lunch and in the evening. The Gunbarrel Grill, upstairs at Snowshoe Sam’s Fireside Lounge, serves gourmet food and its signature Gunbarrel Coffee – a show and a drink in one, featuring a double-barrel shot gun and flames.

Skiers and snowboarders can reach 17 different eateries at lunchtime and, although there are places on the mountain to grab a snack, such as West Ridge Warming Hut and Black Forest, most people tend to return to the resort for lunch.
