The ski season is almost upon us. Well, not quite, but it was snowing in Val Thorens this morning. As you will have seen in our recent snow report, the Hintertux and Kaprun glaciers also have fresh cover. With all that in mind, you may think it’s time to snap up a bargain and get that first winter trip booked.

And don’t forget to reserve your airport parking at least 24 hours before you go. If you’re flying from Gatwick, Cophall Parking has some offers especially for Welove2ski readers.

Due to readers’ requests, we now also have our ski holiday prices in euros (with the exchange rate correct at the time of writing), although you should contact tour operators direct for a quote that doesn’t include travel from the UK.

Early Season Skiing

Les Arcs apartment from £799 with Pierre & Vacances
The village of Arc 1950 is completely pedestrianised, making it safe for children and families to enjoy. The high altitude means the resort is a great early- and late-season destination. Premium Residence Arc 1950 Le Village is in the heart of the village and in a ski-in-ski-out location. Seven night’s accommodation in a classic one-bedroom apartment sleeping up to four people starts from £799 (1092€) – saving of 22% on the original £1,025 (1401€), arriving on December 12. Val d’Isere for £599pp and a free lift pass with VIP Ski
Stay in Val d’Isere for the start of the season and you’ll get a free lift pass. For a full week’s holiday commencing November 29 or December 6 in any VIP chalet you will now pay £599pp (819€) including lift passes. Mayrhofen from £718pp with Inghams

Courchevel for £658pp with Ski Total
This season there are some Christmas savings of nearly £400pp (547€), for example in the 3 Valleys where a week commencing December 20 at the Chalet Cascades in Courchevel has been reduced to £658pp (900€) from the original £1,054 (1441€). Les Gets savings of up to £200pp with Ski Famille
Free chalet upgrades in Les Gets over Christmas and New Year. Ski here this Christmas and New Year and receive a free upgrade to a Select Chalet when you book a Traditional Chalet. The offer provides savings of up to £200pp and applies to a range of chalets for holidays commencing December 20 and 27. Verbier 10% discount with Ski Verbier
There’s 10% off all December and January chalet prices, valid until September 30, but this excludes the New Year week commencing December 27. Ski Verbier has 17 Verbier chalets to choose from, including five new properties, and they have a range of facilities varying from swimming-pools, hot tubs and saunas to indoor cinemas and games rooms. Chalet half-board holidays include free Perrier Jouet or Mumm Champagne throughout the week, and a 24-hour in-resort driving service. More information from Ski Verbier.

La Rosiere from £600pp with Esprit Ski
Childcare takes away much of the stress of the festive period and a family of four can now save up to £550 (752€) with a week commencing December 20 costing from £600pp (820€). This is based on a family of four – two adults and two children – at £2,399 (3280€) with accommodation at Chalet Schatzi in La Rosiere, with return flights, resort transfers, catered accommodation, free wifi, and free weekly baby-listening/child patrol included. Niseko from £1,750pp with Ski Safari
Have you dreamed of skiing Japan with its endless powder and sushi? Head east and combine skiing with some city sightseeing in Tokyo. The resort of Niseko in Hokkaido, Japan’s north island, has opportunities to ski powder on extinct volcanoes, with some great groomed runs too. Book by October 22 and save 20% between February 16 and April 28. Stay seven nights at the four-star-plus Ki Niseko in Niseko and two nights at four-star Niwa Hotel in Tokyo, with prices starting from £1,750pp (2393€), including flights and transfers based on departures in March. Les Saisies from £240pp with Peak Retreats
Ski the Mont Blanc and Chamonix Valley, staying in the resort of Les Saisies, and you will save 10% on your holiday. Stay in Le Hameau du Beaufortain from £240pp (328€) – it was £267pp (365€) – for the week starting February 23. To take advantage of this ski deal, bookings should be made by October 31. St Anton from £1,499pp with Supertravel Ski
The operator has £200 (273€) savings per child (aged two to 15 years) on holidays to St Anton during February half term, with prices from £1,699 (2323€) per adult and £1,499 (2050€) per child. For example, stay at Chalet Taja (sleeps nine people) in the quiet Nasserein district close to two dedicated children’s ski areas. The chalet has an outdoor hot tub and sauna, and a week’s stay here includes chalet board accommodation. Further details from Supertravel Ski.

Saint Lary for £54pp with Erna Low
Save 20% on accommodation in Saint-Lary Soulan, where you can stay seven nights at Residence Cami Real on a self-catered basis for £54pp (74€) based on six people sharing. Situated in a central location, the residence has free access to its indoor swimming-pool and easy access to the charming village. Morzine from £345pp with Flexiski
For a short period, a free room is being offered if you book an entire chalet for either three, four or seven nights, which makes a saving of up to £900 (1231€). To take advantage of the offer you must book by September 19 and it excludes Christmas, New Year and February half term departures. One of the chalets is The Retreat (sleeps up to 16 people) in Le Lavanchy, a few minutes from Morzine, which was rebuilt from a derelict 300-year-old Savoyard farmhouse. The chalet can be booked either by the room or on a sole occupancy basis throughout the season. Prices are from £345pp (471€) for a three-night midweek stay on a half board basis. Tignes from £272pp with Ski Collection
Ski in Tignes-le-Lac and you can save 10% on the cost of your holiday. Accommodation is at Le Telemark and the price is from £272pp (372€) – it was £302pp (413€) – for the February 23 week.
