Temperatures are yo-yoing about in the Alps: but there is plenty of snow at altitude.
The avalanche risk is already up to 4/5 in the French Alps - which more or less rules out off-piste skiing for now.
Generally, the early-season cover is excellent above the 1600m mark - but it will warm up this week.
More than half a metre of snow will fall in places over the next two days, and it will get colder too - for a while.
In the central and eastern Alps, there's over two metres of settled snow at altitude.
The next storm will probably be the heaviest - with over a metre of snow expected in some places in 24 hours.
In places, there'a 35-45cm of fresh snow on the slopes - and more to come midweek.
Great news for the high-altitude resorts: the snowy spell is set to continue until next week.
